This was an interesting discussion. I think Ross has the right idea about looking forward and not looking backward. Looking backward too much can be a very self conscious experience. I also think it interesting that no matter how real footage might seem it is really only one aspect or moment of a person's personality, similar to a photograph. You have to really know someone to know someone...media is constructed. However, it can be a nice approximation.
This sounds like an interesting presentation but is there a transcript for us deaf folks?
